Bladder cancer. Cytoscopic view inside the bladder of a 79-year-old man with a transitional cell carcinoma (TCC, cancer), showing a cystoscopic electrocautery (resectoscope, silver) being used to obtain a biopsy (tissue sample) of a tumour for analysis. A cystoscope is an endoscope inserted through the urethra to examine the bladder. TCC is the most common form of bladder cancer and arises from the transitional epithelium that lines the inner surface of hollow organs such as the bladder.
