Van 't Hoff. The emblem is derived from the municipal weapon of Hardinxveld-Giessendam, the birthplace of J. van 't Hoff (1901-1945), Sergeant-Machinist at Piet Hein (1928-1942) Van' t Hoff distinguished itself in the battle In the street badoeng on February 19, 1942, where Piet Hein was brought to sink. He ventured his LVN to close the jumped steam and fuel lines on the hidden place and thus saved the life. The bird in the emblem is derived from the arm of Piet Hein.
