The Baron's Hall at Christmas (Wycoller Hall in the 18th century)

Wycoller Hall was a 16th century manor-houe in England. Here we see the baron celebrating Christmas with his uncouth and ignorant upper-class cronies and his poor mistreated servants and slaves. OK OK, maybe he was nice to his servants. And to his dogs. If he had dogs. There's a huge hearth (which still survives in ruins today) and tables of food and beer (long since gone). Don't bother with expensive toys and complicated decorations, get out the beer. A traditional English christmas scene. Really. For the top 1% at least.
