The famous conger eel lunch box (anagomeshi, anago meshi, anago-meshi) from the restaurant Ueno Anagomeshi in Miyajima-guchi, Japan.

Anagomeshi Ueno, a small restaurant that opened in Miyajima-guchi, Japan, at the turn of the 20th century, has been serving the same anagomeshi bento (conger eel rice bento box) since its inception. Delicious grilled conger eel (anago) is placed over incredible rice that's been flavoured with eel broth, and garnished with pickled ginger and other pickles. The anagomeshi bento boxes are often bought as takeaway items to take for lunch during excursions to nearby Miyajima as Anagomeshi Ueno is located at between the Miyajima-guchi train station and the ferry terminal which takes visitors to Miyajima. The eel at Anagomeshi Ueno is simply sublime; we went back twice during our travels to the local area. Highly, highly recommended!
