At 6 p. m. enemy troops were observed to be forming up in three wavesin La Vachere Wood for a counterattack. Company A quickly dispersedthem with machine gun and automatic rifle fire. The enemy retaliated, how-ever, by placing a barrage on this company, causing one casualty. While the troops lay on their objective in the Bois dHarville, there oc-curred an incident which gave an insight into the methods of warfare adoptedby the Germans. A report by Sergeant C. C. Wesslund describes the cir-cumstances connected with the death of Lieutenant Milton Wilson of Com-pany I. Lieutenant Wilson, according to this report, noticed a group of Ger-mans advancing with
