The people who attended came from all parts of Califor- ia, and everyone seemed to take a personal interest in the orses. They knew all about them, and just wanted to see hat they were capable of doing at this the last meeting of |ie year. The rule adopted by this Association, which made irery horse compete for every heat, was again tested, and the ime judgment that we pronounced regarding it last spring ill holds good. It is a success, and everyone who owns a otter or a pacer will agree with us in upholding this " new ?parture " as soon as it is more fully understood.
