Stefano della Bella. The Grotto of Pan and Fame. 1653–1655. Italy. Etching on ivory laid paper Florentine by birth, Stefano della Bella worked extensively for the Medici family there, although he also worked in Rome and Paris between 1638 and 1650. He was a prolific graphic artist, creating over 1,000 etchings, mostly from his imagination. This is one of a series of prints he made of the Medici gardens.
