Master Sgt. Jeremy Utphall, 2nd Bomb Wing Inspector General exercise division superintendent, is put in handcuffs during an active shooter exercise at Barksdale Air Force Base, La., Nov. 29, 2016. Utphall played the role of the active shooter. Exercises allow the commander to see exactly what areas need more focus and training, and a means to enhance readiness, boost capabilities and streamline procedures in the event of a major incident.
