PANCREAS TRANSPLANT, DRAWING

Transplantation of the pancreas - sample of the graft. The transplantation of the entire pancreas is usually undertaken in the treatment for type1 diabetes, when the patient does not respond to insulinotherapy, and present severe complications or terminal renal insufficiency. The intervention is done in three stages : sample of the graft (here), reconstruction of the vascularization of the graft (see. image 1074907) and transplantation (see. images 2862708 and 2862808). The donor is an individual in cerebral death. The donor of the pancreas (in yellow) is removed entirely with the duodenal frame (duodenopancreatectomy) and the spleen. The concomitant sample of a part of the duodenum enables to guarantee the integrity of Wirsung's canal, discharging the pancreatic juice, and vascularization. The duodenal frame will also be used for the junction to the receiver. The spleen is used as a handle to remove the pancreas without damaging the end of the pancreas. See. images 1074907 for the revascularization of the graft, 2862708 and 2862808 for the transplantation.
