This early 1920s illustration shows the first and second pyramids at Giza in Lower Egypt. In front of the largest pyramid, that built by Khufu (Cheops) and known as the Great Pyramid, are three small pyramids for his family. At left is the pyramid of Khufu's son Khafre. At the foot of the causeway leading out from Khafre's pyramid is the Great Sphinx. In the left foreground you can see the illustration of a pyramid being built.
