The splendidly-formed buds are of an entrancing new color, the ex- terior of the petals heavily veined with rose d'or and shaded orange-cadmium, the interior a deep chrome-yellow on the lower half passes to a warm rich rosy-salmon. The outside of the petals is a deep chrome- yellow with a marginal color effect of brilliant orange- scarlet merging to an irregular zone of burnt orange, the inside salmon-orange suffused bronze, shading to yellow at the base. One of the finest Roses of the past season's introduc- tion. Its splendid long pointed buds are of a deep scarlet- carmine opening to large fragrant double perfect blooms that shade from orange at the base of the petals to rich carmine at the edges. It is of strong robust habit with glossy holly-like foliage and exceptionally free flowering for a rose of its large size. $ each. Sir David Davis.
