Being directly at themouth of the Raritan river and alsoat the point where the Staten Islandsound joins Raritan Bay, there is anuninteiTupted view all the way toSandy Hook, twenty miles away, wherethe ocean liners may be seen creepingin and out of New York THE SUBURBANITE Raritan Bay is a beautiful sheet ofwater, as viewed from Perth in the foreground is theextreme southern limit of Greater NewYork, being the end of Richmondborough or Staten Island. With itsgreen hills and quaint villages, theisland looks like an emerald in a settingof turquoise, formed by the waters ofthe bay and sound.
