PHILIPPINE SEA (Nov. 1, 2016) Visitors from Japan watch as an F/A-18E Super Hornet, assigned to the “Eagles” of Strike Fighter Squadron (VFA) 115, flies over the flight deck of the Navy’s only forward-deployed aircraft carrier, USS Ronald Reagan (CVN 76), as part of Exercise Keen Sword 2017 (KS17). KS17 is a joint, bilateral field-training exercise involving military and Japanese Maritime Self-Defense Force personnel, designed to increase combat readiness and interoperability of the alliance.
