In 1615, the church was enlarged, as may be seen fromone of the foregoing entries, and consisted then of a naveand two ailes, with various chapels and a tower. It wasfarther repaired soon afterwards, and escaped the fire in1666: but in 1671, a great part of it fell down so suddenly,that the sexton, who was digging a grave near it saved hislife with difficulty. The tower, (containing two archesand columns,) and a portion of the west end escaped, andstill remain to shew7 the character of the old building.
