Bath, Somerset, UK. 14th September 2019. Several hundred Jane Austen fans dressed in period attire take part in the Grand Regency Costumed Promenade celebrating the life and works of the English novelist. The Promenade commenced mid-morning from Sydney Gardens and made its way through the historic Georgian streets and main shopping area of the historic city. In 2014 the Jane Austen Festival achieved the Guinness World Record TM for ‘The largest gathering of people dressed in Regency costumes’. The Somerset city is currently host to the 19th annual Jane Austen Festival with an expected 4000 visitors taking part in events such as film screenings, book readings, workshops, dances, balls, talks, concerts and theatricals.
