A two hour walk from Rowardennan, up the Ptarmigan Ridge, took me to just below the summit of Ben Lomond overlooking Loch Lomond and the village of Tarbert in the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park in the southern highlands of Scotland. The view, at daybreak, looks north west along Loch Lomond towards the high mountains around Arrochar and Tyndrum.
