210712-N-JW440-2117 GULF OF ADEN (July 12, 2021) – Quartermaster 3rd Class Nolan Day uses the ship’s binoculars aboard guided-missile cruiser USS Shiloh (CG 67) to observe a refueling-at-sea with Royal Fleet Auxiliary replenishment tanker RFA Tidespring (A 136) in the Gulf of Aden, July 12. Shiloh is deployed to the 5th Fleet area of operations in support of naval operations to ensure maritime stability and security in the Central Region, connecting the Mediterranean and Pacific through the western Indian Ocean and three strategic choke points.
