The twenty watermills Êremains today, located on the natural cascade where theÊwaterÊflows between the twoÊPlivaÊLakes. Apparently local farmers used theÊmillsÊto grind wheat into flour right up until the Second World War. Watermills demonstrate the historical architecture style and carpentry techniques of the region. Pliva lakes and watermills were declared to be ÒNational Monuments of Bosnia and HerzegovinaÓ in 2009.
