The patron saint was a companionof S. Sever, and, like him, was martyred about 409,according to tradition, on the site occupied at a laterdate by the monastery. The Hagetmau tradition isthat the greater part of the relics was preserved theretill 1569, when they were taken to Bourg-sous-Vic inthe Couserans, which thenceforward was known as. ^ .X
