Clanfield, Hampshire, UK. 05th June, 2016. A man has been pronounced dead after he was hit by a Car on the Northbound section of the A3M just after the Clanfield on Slip onto. The incident happened on Sunday evening. Hampshire Police said the pedestrian was struck by a VW Polo Car just after on Sunday. The Northbound carriage of the A3M between Junction 2 and Junction 1 was closed for five hours whilst Collision and Accident investigation work took place. Hampshire Police said the pedestrian was struck by a VW Polo Car just after on Sunday. The Northbound carriage of the A3M between Junction 2 and Junction 1 was closed for five hours whilst Collision and Accident investigation work took place. The driver of the VW Polo was treated at the scene for shock and was taken to hospital by ambulance. The 35-year-old man who had been walking on the unlit carriage way suffered serious head injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics. The Northbound A3 was closed between Horndean and Clanfield while investigations were carried out. Officers are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the crash or the events leading up to it to contact Acting Police Sergeant Melanie Adcock of Hampshire Road Police Collision Investigation Unit on 101 quoting reference Operation Windy. ©UKNIP
