NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (March 21, 2019) Chief Electronics Technician Kristopher Hughes, from Live Oak, Florida, assigned to USS Gerald R. Ford's (CVN 78) combat systems department, returns the salutes of Ford's Chiefs Mess as he is piped ashore. Ford is currently undergoing its post-shakedown availability at Huntington Ingalls Industries-Newport News Shipbuilding.
