Proboscis fully deToloped ; palpi obliquely upturned, tlie 2nd joint reaching about to -Nertex of head and moderately scaled, the 3rd typicalh moderate ; frons smooth, with large luft of scales; e5'es large, round ; antennae with tul't of scales on basal joint, of male typically bipeetinate with rather long branches, the apical part ciliated; build slender; thorax clothed almost entirely with scales, the protborax with speading crest, the metathorax with paired crests; tibiae slightly fringed with hair; abdomen with dorsal crests on basal and terminal segments, the latter typically large, lateral tufts of hair and small paired anal tufts. Fore wiug narrow, the apex somewhat produced, tlie termen obliquely curved and not crenulate; veins 3 and 5 from near angle of cell ; 6 from upper angle ; 9 from 10 anastomosing with 8 to form the areole ; 11 from cell. Hind wing with veins 3, 4 from angle of cell; 5 fully developed from above angle; 0, 7 from upper angle; 8 anasto- mosing with the cell near base only. Sect. I.
