A sunrise photograph of the former "Spa Ladder" bridge at Whitby, North Yorkshie (UK) that once connected the East Pier to the East Cliff at Henrietta Street (Haggelythe). A number of makeshift connections connected the two over the years (including an actual ladder). All have been replaced with a continuous causeway, wide enough to be used by emergency vehicles. Over the years sections of bridge have been added to cope with the constant erosion of the cliffs by heavy waves.
