Matthew Simpson, an optometrist with the 7218th Medical Support Unit, out of Louisville, Kentucky, turns a boring visit to the doctors into a fun experience for 4-year-old Jonathan Howard, a local resident, on July 17, 2018. Simpson is participating in a Department of Defense Innovative Readiness Training mission which builds military readiness while bringing quality medical care to members of the Leech Lake Indian Reservation and surrounding communities at the Bug-O-Nay-Ge-Shig School in Bena, Minnesota.
