Liverpool, UK 25th May, 2013. German Minesweeper at the 70th anniversary of the Battle of the Atlantic (BOA 70) commemoration and events centred around Liverpool. The Battle of the Atlantic was the longest continuous military campaign in World War 2, at its height from mid-1940 through to the end of 1943.

The PINGUIN B3 is purpose designed for the task of mine disposal. the design is based on the experience of MMB - Marine's requirements of the German Navy derived from the first German Minehunter Class 331-B. PINGUIN is the system which will be used on the new German minehunter MJ 332. It benefits from the fact that MBB is also the prime contractor of this program being responsible for the layout, design and production of the whole ship system. Interactions between the ship system and the vehicle have led to an optimisation of the system to meet the needs of modern minehunting.
