This plow was attached to the motortruck underneath the axle in such a manner that the frontend was held down by the weight of the truck. The depthof the cut was regulated by means of a shoe placed ashort distance from the end of the plow. Four furrowswere plowed. In the last two the beam of the plow waspractically level with the ground, so there was nothingleft to do but shovel out the dirt. On ordinary diggingone man operated the plow and all he had to do was toioossn it up in case it was pulling too heavy on the truck. The company has lately devised a plow having a doublepoint and a mole board, which it is hoped will not onlydig the trench but also will clear out the greater part of. ^</*»*^ ? Experiments with this device have not beenentirely successful as yet, but it is believed that withina short time an arrangement can be perfected wherebythe desired results will he obtained. On one occasionwhen plowing in sandy loam the experimenters were able,by the use of the new plow and excavator propelled bythe motor truck, to dig a 2 ft. trench and to remove from December 20, 1916Vol. XLVI. This board had a steelshoe and was attached to the truck by a chain betweenthe front of the truck and the outside of theshoe, by a chain from the firsts, standard of the truck tothe inside of the board, and by a pipe with a shoe onthe end fastened to the truck so it had a vertical motion.
