Measuring blood pressure. Hospital nurse measuring the blood pressure of an elderly patient. The arm cuff is inflated to measure the pressure at which blood flow stops and resumes. Abnormal blood pressure can indicate an underlying disorder. The hospital is part of England's National Health Service (NHS). The nurse is an Emergency Nurse Practitioner (ENP), a specialist nurse who can assess, diagnose and treat patients with minor injuries, without needing to refer the case to a doctor. Photographed at St Richard's Hospital, Chichester, West Sussex, England.
