Er frägt: »How are the light petioles of week climbing plants to stÃ¥nd erect and bear their leaves in an approximately horizontal position?* Die Antwort läut5t: »It is clear that great development of any part of a lamina will alter the position of its centre of gravity â â â iu a cordate leaf the centre of gravity is near the petiole â thus a nmch slighter petiole will be able to keep the lamina approximately horizontal, if it be cordate».
