, La Orotava, Canary Islands, Spain - The Observatory del Teide (Teide Observatory) is an observatory on the mountain Izana, at 2400 meters above sea level, on Tenerife, after which it is also called Observatorio de Izana. It is part of the Instituto de Asturias de Canarias (IAC), and forms together with the Roque de los Muchachos Observatory the European Northern Observatory. In the background the Pico del Teide.
