Fallen tree in the early morning mist, Mitchell River, Cariboo-Chilcotin region, British Columbia

In the fall, the Mitchell River is the site of a large sockeye salmon run that comes up the Fraser River system and views of the Cariboo Mountains can be had from the river. On frosty mornings in the late fall, the mists rise from the river and the sun catches the mist. Many fallen trees sit in the river such as this one whose root system is silhouetted against the mist.
