THE COTTAGE GARDENS, QUEENS, #. r. 27 IVY LEAVED GERANIUMS NEW ORCHID-FLOWERED IVY- LEAVED PELARGONIUM LEOPARD This is the most distinct novelty in the ivy- leaved section yet originated. It is absolutely distinct from any other variety. The flower is large, semi-double, and borne in medium-size trusses. The color is remarkable, being fully as rich and distinct as an orchid. The ground is a clear, lilac pink, the upper petals being heavily blotched with deep crimson and usually marked with distinct maroon dots. The variety is unique and fully as striking as many of the orchids, many people mistaking it for an orchid flower. This will make one of the most distinct basket plants in cultivation, and as it is as easily grown as any of the ivy-leaved geraniums, it will be valu- able for cut blooms, as the flowers produce the same color effects as are produced by using rare orchids. The blooms are good keepers, and will last several days after cutting. The habit is ex- ceptionally strong and vigorous, and it flowers abundantly through the winter season. After growing this variety another season, we are more impressed than ever with its commercial value. Fine, strong plants, from 2V2-inch pots, for March deliverv, 25 cts. each; $ per dozen; $ per 100. Achievement. A unique novelty. A cross between Souv. de Chas. Turner and a pure white Zonale.
