Wallace Tower, High Street, Ayr, Ayrshire, Scotland, UK. Wallace Tower is a 113ft high, neo- gothic tower, built in 1823 to commemorate William Wallace, Scottish freedom fighter. It is claimed that the tower is built on the site of a barn that was used to hold 500 English soldiers and was set on fire by Wallace, killing all inside. There is a statue of Wallace, facing west, on the first floor.
