Its cost was about $12, occupied the southwest cornerof Huntington and .lay streets, and is built of rough granite, and is oneof the finest buildings in the city; itsarchitecture is unique, and it presentsa most substantial and solid appear-ance. In size it is commodious andgenerous. It occupies a conspicuousposition on the crest of the hill op-posite the Park, on Broad Street. Thepresent Pastor of the church is \V. Bixler, who commenced his. Prayer Meetings on Wednesday and Saturday Evenings. was dedicated in April, 1835. OnMarch 13th, 1868, it was burned tothe ground, and that soon after theexpenditure upon it of •$10,000 forrepairs. The corner stone of thepresent structure was laid in ()ctober,1868. The edifice was completed anddedicated in June, 1870. Its entirecost was more than $140,000. It pastorate in October, 1891.
