View W of the apsidal chancel & rectangular nave of St Mary the Virgin's Church, Upwaltham, West Sussex, England, UK. A C12th Norman nave & apse with a later, weatherboarded bell turret. A C13th pointed arch was inserted between nave & chancel, & four trefoil-headed windows added to the apse in the C14th. The S porch is modern. This photo was taken in November 1982. During 2020 the roughcast was removed, the Wealden sandstone & flint walls repointed & re-rendered with limewash. The C17th tiled & weatherboared barn at Church farm just to the W is a Grade II* Listed Building. The church is Grade I Listed.
