Atlantic waves break on the 3000 million year old precambrian rocks of the Butt of Lewis - the most northerly point of the Isle of Lewis, Outer Hebrides, Scotland. The lighthouse designed by David Stevens was built in the 1860s. Unusually for Scotland it is built of red brick and unpainted.
