BLACK SEEDED SIMPSON—Grows fully double the size of the Early Curled Simpson, and is better in every way. It is much lighter colored, leaves being al- most white. One ofthe very best. Stands summer heat splendidly. Largely grown. Pkt. 6c, oz. 15c, 1^lb. 36c, lb. BUTTERCUP —This new variety comes very highly recommended. For beauty of foliage, extreme tenderness and delicacy of flavor, it is hard to beat. Always forms good solid heads. It is me- dium early and is equally suitable for either summer or winter growth. It is undoubtedly one of the best of all the new varieties. Pkt. 6c, oz. 15c, lb. 35c, lb. » CAXIEOKNIA ,-HEART JLET- TUCE—The originator says of this lettuce: " No praise is too high, as its superior does not exist," and after a fair trial, we can en- dorse his claims and highly recommend the California AU-lieart tettuce. Its handsome shape and appearance are well shown in the engraving made from na- ture. It heads up like a cabbage and al- most as solid, of a beautiful light green shade, almost white, and a very ric vor. Grows rapidly and is tender and sweet at all times. Pkt. 5c, oz. 15c, 34 lb. 50c. GRAND RAPIDS LETTUCE—This variety originated at Grand Rapids, Mich., where it is largely grown for shipment and where it is considered by many, the best loose headed lettuce for forcing un- der glass. Leaves medium size, of light, yellowish green color, much crimped, and frilled, thin, but of very upright growth ; forms afairsized butloose head; crisp, tender and of good quality. Owing to its upright habit it may be planted very closely. It is of extremely rapid growth; very little liable to rot; will stand without spoiling a week to ten days after it is fit to cut
