A coloured lithograph of Crumlin Viaduct, Monmouthshire, published by Newman & Co., c1842. The Crumlin Viaduct was constructed under the architect Charles Liddell (1813-1894) and designed by Thomas Kennard (1825-1893) The viaduct was considered to be one of the engineering wonders of the time when it was built in 1857. It was constructed to carry the Newport, Abergavenny and Hereford Railway across Taff Vale in South Wales.
