Stella Cokias prepares to steep tea during a green tea seminar Nov. 22 on Camp Foster, Okinawa, Japan. The class is one of the many Marine Corps Community Services-sponsored programs that allows Status of Forces Agreement members to engage in Japanese culture. During the class, a certified tea specialist explained the numerous health benefits, historical background and proper preparation of Japanese green tea, which is also known as matcha. After the presentation and demonstration, students walked through the steps of preparing the tea themselves. Cokias is a Winter Park, Florida, native.
