City Palace, Jaipur, Rajasthan, India. The City Palace complex in Jaipur was begun by the Maharaja Jai Singh II in the first half of the 18th century. His successors added further buildings. In the foreground is the Jantar Mantar (Yantra Mandir), a collection of architectural astronomical instruments built by Jai Singh II between 1727 and 1733.
