WWI - The British armoured Duke of Edinburgh class cruiser 'Black Prince' sunk with all hands by German gunfire in the Battle of Jutland aka Battle of Skagerrak on May 31st 1916. It is generally believed that the German battleship Thüringen fixed Black Prince in her searchlights and opened fire, and was joined by other German vessels (including Nassau, Ostfriesland, and Friedrich der Grosse,) at point blank range causing her to sink. The wreck site is a war grave under the Protection of Military Remains Act 1986.
