But the evidences of volcanic eruption in the TianShan are not at present convincing. Stoliczka, indeed, found basalticrocks and boulders in the mountains north of Kashgar, and passedthrough what appeared to be the centre of an extensive volcanic discovered diabase, melaphyre, and more recent volcanicrocks, such as dolerites, in the Borohoro range north of Kulja, and tuffsin the valley of Badam in the AVestern Tian Shan.
