When the County ofHenderson was organized he was elected Chief Justice of thecounty and Lieutenant Colonel of the militia, and in 1847 waselected to the Legislature. In 1849 he was given full licenseto practice law and was in the active practice until 1852, whenhe was elected District Judge for a term of six years.
