The Mantoro garden lanterns Festival at the Kasuga Taisha Shrine in Nara Japan Asia


The Mantoro Matsuri is a festival of fire which takes place every winter and summer in the Corridor of the Kasuga Taisha Shrine, in which 3000 hanging lanterns are lit. This shine holds the guardian deity of the historic Fujikawa Clan, and it is said that the lanterns were lit every night in the prosperous days of this family.
