Id other specimens these fibres, K, originate in the same way but terminate by running under the common bile-duct and decussating there with similar fibres from the opposite side. w. Fig, 14. Macerated duodenal portion of the common bile-duct of man. All of the intestinal coats have been removed. ^ 5. Fig. 14 shows the muscular arrangement about the end of the common bile-duct and the duct of Wirsung after all fibres of the outer longitudinal and inner circular muscle coats have been removed. The common bile-duct and the duct of Wirsung have been drawn in the same position as they occupied in Fig. 12, but removal of the mus- cular coats of the intestine permits of a view of the various structures in profile. All the structures here shown have been described more or less fully under Figs. 12 and 13. After an examination of serial cross-sections of the duo- denal portion of the human common bile-duct, we have selected two of them for illustration since they represent the principal points. The first figure, 15, is taken near the level of union of the com- mon bile-duct with the duct of WiRSUNG. The structures of interest are situated.
