This intrusion is 50 feet wide at the locality of theoutcrop 30 feet to the west of the vein on the lake shore. Thegeneral strike of the vein is S. 45o E. and its dip is about 70 degreestowards the northeast. The vein has been uncovered over a lengthof 700 feet by means of excavations and trenches and its widthvaries between 2 and 11 feet. It is formed of blueish quartz con-taining inclusions of greenstone. The inclosing rock and thequartz are mineralized; the latter contains visible gold. Thesinking of the shaft on the vein has been begun and it has beendeepened vertically to depth of 125 feet. The walls of the-veindip away from the shaft at a depth of about 35 feet.
