Pahoa, Hawaii - People hike across the cooled lava from the 2018 eruption of the Kilauea volcano. Sprouting coconuts have been placed to mark a pathway through the sharp-edged lava. This lava flow destroyed over 700 homes in the Puna District and created hundreds of acres of new land when it met the Pacific Ocean.
