YOKOSUKA, Japan (April 28, 2017) Hull Technician Fireman Jose Rodriguez, from San Francisco, stands safety observer for Hull Technician Fireman Rachel Kachi, from San Diego, as she patches an opening on the superstructure of the Navy’s forward-deployed aircraft carrier, USS Ronald Reagan (CVN 76). Kachi is patching the opening to prevent rainwater from entering the navigation bridge. Ronald Reagan, the flagship of Carrier Strike Group 5, provides a combat-ready force that protects and defends the collective maritime interests of its allies and partners in the Indo-Asia-Pacific region.
