Ashness Jetty on Derwentwater, Lake District, UK.

The jetty near Ashness Bridge, Derwent Water in the English Lake District. The dark hulk of Blencathra looming in the distance. I couldn't visit the Lakes without taking one of these. The light was mid afternoon and unremarkable in colour, heavily influenced by the blue sky. Luckily the stillness of the water and the blue tone combine to give a feeling of stillness.
