Chelsea Piers, New York, NY. Sunset on the Hudson River, charter boats moored at the Chelsea Piers in lower Manhattan. The Piers on the Hudson River on the West side of lower Manhattan were rebuilt and opened as 28-acre ( hectors) sports complex between 17th and 23rd streets on the West Side Highway in 1995. The privately funded complex includes a four-story golf driving range, two full-sized ice rinks, marina, restaurants, bars, television studios and a bowling alley. At the start of the 1900’s the Chelsea Piers were berths for large ocean liners such as the Titanic and Lusitania and later used to deploy soldiers to Europe during World War II.
