Because of the bright red color the animals are sometimes called " ; Description. In general, the Devons are a docile but hardy breed of cattle, well adapted to thrive on short and hilly pasture, while at the same time respond- ing to good care. The following scale of points, adopted by the American Devon Cattle Club, Novem- ber 11, 1886, shows what is desired in the breed.
